Would you take on a second job?
We see it every time we log in to social media - the PA friend who teaches yoga at the weekend, or the colleague who also sells jewellery on Etsy. Because, increasingly, we're looking beyond one career, as multitasking millennials - 1.2m people in the UK, in fact - take on second jobs to boost their income and pursue passion projects.
Check out the Direct Selling Association (dsa.org.uk). If you've been to an Avon party, you'll know of 'direct selling', where reps sell branded products face to face with customers, usually in their home. But it's not just Avon - brands like Neal's Yard Remedies (under the name NYR Organic) and jewellery designer Miglio also use a direct-selling model. Kendall Platt, 29, is a full-time forensic scientist, and a Stella & Dot accessories stylist in her spare time. "I work ten to 12 hours a month, earning an extra £500. I've always loved fashion - it would be difficult to build my own brand from scratch, but Stella & Dot has already done it and worked out the sales strategy."
